Lenox Industrial Tools 301 – New Hampshire Motor Speedway Advance
June 23, 2010The Home Depot Team Notes of Interest
- The Home Depot Team and Joey Logano return to New Hampshire Motor Speedway as the defending race winners of the Lenox Industrial Tools 301. Crew chief Greg Zipadelli took advantage of approaching rain to put Logano in position to be up front when the rain fell over the track. NASCAR called the race due to inclement weather and declared the then 19-year-old Logano the victor. He became the youngest winner in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series history with the victory.
- Logano and The Home Depot Team remain 17th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series point standings after a disappointing 33rd-place finish at Infineon Raceway last weekend. Logano now sits 149 points out of 12th-place, the cut off for the Chase to the Sprint Cup, and seven points out of 16th.
- Meet Logano! Fans of Logano can meet him at The Home Depot store #3403 in Hooksett, N.H. on Thursday, June 24 from 5 – 7 p.m. The store is located at 300 Quality Dr. There will be a children's workshop, photo opportunities with the No. 20 Home Depot Toyota and an autograph signing by Logano. Wristbands for the signing will be given out one hour prior to the first 700 fans in line.
- Welcome aboard The Home Depot associates from store #3902 from Oklahoma City. The store number will adorn the lower rear quarter panels of the No. 20 Toyota Camry this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Interesting fact about Oklahoma City, it was the location of the world's first installed parking meter on July 16, 1935.
- The No. 20 Team is taking chassis #271 to defend its 2009 race win at Loudon. This is a new chassis for The Home Depot Team. The back-up chassis is #266 which Logano ran at Darlington in May.
- Logano will be back running double-duty this weekend behind the steering wheels of The Home Depot Toyota on Sunday and the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Nationwide car on Saturday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
- The Home Depot and the National Motorsports Press Association (NMPA) will once again team up in 2010 to present the Home Depot NMPA Humanitarian Award. This is the fourth year the award is being presented and the winner of the award will be announced during the NASCAR NMPA Myers Brother Awards luncheon in Las Vegas. The award recognizes an individual in the NASCAR community that has displayed a dedication to helping others and improving communities through their service and giving. The winner will receive a $100,000 cash donation made by The Home Depot to the recipient's charity of choice and a specially-designed crystal award. Two finalists will each receive $25,000 cash donations to their designated non-profit organizations.

Logano Quotes:
"Going back to Loudon is important for a lot of reasons to this team. Obviously going back to where I got my first Cup win is a big deal because you never forget that, but I also consider it my home track and it's the same for a lot of people on this team including Zippy (crew chief Greg Zipadelli). For some reason we have a lot of New Englanders on this team, so there is always a ton of friends and family around."
"Now on the flip side, Loudon is a tough track for me even though I won there. I've run really well there in the Nationwide car and even in the K & N Pro Series, but I've struggled in The Home Depot Toyota. There are so many ways to get around that place, and I'm still figuring out what works best for me and the set up in the car. The positives going into this weekend is that we normally struggle at Phoenix too, and we ran well there in April. We've stepped up our short-track program so hopefully we will see the same improvements here as we did in Phoenix where we finished in the top 10."
"Our goal and focus right now is still on making the chase. If we can get through this weekend and Daytona, we head back to tracks where we know we can run well. The next two weeks are important. We can't have another weekend like we did in Sonoma. We stayed in the same spot in points, but we lost points on 12th."
