September 30, 2009The Home Depot Team Notes of Interest
- Joey Logano will be making his second start at Kansas Speedway in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series on Sunday, but first in The Home Depot Toyota. Logano drove the No. 96 car last year at the 1.5-mile track.
- Meet Joey Logano! Fans of Logano can meet the driver at The Home Depot Store #2213 south of Kansas Speedway in Shawnee, Kan. on Thursday, Oct. 1 from 5 – 7 p.m. The store is located at 15501 W. 67th St. There will be a children's workshop and photo opportunities with the No. 20 Home Depot Toyota in addition to the autograph signing by Logano.
- Logano's NASCAR Nationwide car will feature the Our House: Party! video game this weekend in a partnership between the home improvement retailer, Majesco Entertainment Company and GameStop. The game has The Home Depot-branded content integrated into the game's party-style home improvement gameplay, including a cash register race set in a virtual The Home Depot store, branded weekly ads, delivery trucks and more. The Home Depot's retail partnership with GameStop will feature a number of activation programs including the distribution of The Home Depot Mystery Gift Cards. GameStop customers will receive a Home Depot Mystery Gift Card valued from $1 to $1,000 in every Our House: Party! video game as a gift with purchase, available at GameStop store locations and online at www.gamestop.com.
- Logano slipped one spot in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series standings after his 42nd-place finish last weekend at Dover International Speedway. Logano was running in the top 25 before the incident on lap 32. He sits just 33 points out of 19th heading into this weekend's 400-mile race.
- Welcome aboard The Home Depot Associates from store # 8984 in St. Joseph, Mo. The store number will ride along with Logano this weekend at Kansas Speedway. Logano Quotes:
On Kansas…
"I'm ready to get back to the track and put last week behind us. We have a lot going on in Kansas this weekend with The Home Depot store appearance on Thursday and then the special paint scheme on the Nationwide car on Saturday. Home Depot and GameStop teamed up to do the Our House: Party! paint scheme and the car looks really cool. Kansas is one of the tracks that I raced the Cup car at last year so I have that to lean back on when we unload on Friday. We lost a position in the point standings last week so it's really important for us to get a good race in this weekend."
On last week's wreck…
"That was definitely the wildest ride I had ever been on. I am fine though and it says a lot about how safe these cars are. Just looking forward to getting back on the track."
