Talladega 500 at Talladega Superspeedway

October 29, 2009

The Home Depot Team Notes of Interest

  • Joey Logano will make his second start in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Talladega Superspeedway this weekend. The No. 20 will be back in its familiar orange and white The Home Depot colors for the 500-mile restrictor place race. Logano earned his first career top-10 finish in the Cup Series at Talladega in April when he drafted up to the ninth position when the checkered flag waved.
  • The Home Depot Team and Logano sit 20th in the Sprint Cup Series point standings. LoganoÕs 12th-place run at Martinsville Speedway moved him closer to the 18th and 19th-place drivers in the standings. He now sits just 55 points out of the 18th position with four races remaining on the Sprint Cup Series schedule for the year.
  • Welcome aboard The Home Depot Associates from store # 2918 from Waveland, Miss. The store number will ride along with Logano this weekend at the seriesÕ longest oval. The city of Waveland has been rebuilding since it was hit directly by the eyewall of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Known as The Hospitality City, the small city hosts several community events, parades and festivals along the Gulf Coast.
  • The No. 20 Team is taking chassis #245 to the track this weekend for the 188-lap superspeedway race. This is a new chassis in the No. 20 teamÕs stable. Logano maintains his lead over Scott Speed by 29 points (227-198) in the Raybestos Rookie standings. Logano earned rookie of the race honors for the third-consecutive race and for the 23rd time this season with his 12th-place finish in Martinsville. The top finishing rookie in last fallÕs race at the 2.66-mile track crossed the stripe in the 18th spot.
  • The Home Depot and ISC are teaming up to give race fans the opportunity to score a Mystery Gift Card to The Home Depot. The Home Depot Mystery Gift Cards will be included in every souvenir race program sold this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway. Gift cards will range in awards from $1 to $1,000. Be sure to purchase your souvenir race programs at Talladega Superspeedway, Phoenix International Raceway and Homestead-Miami Speedway and then head to The Home Depot to see the mystery that awaits.
  • HomeDepotRacing.com has been revamped for the 2009 season. Fans can track JoeyÕs races and appearances throughout the season, read about his experiences during his rookie campaign in JoeyÕs Journal and ask Joey questions that he will answer for fans.
